Gleb Shtyrmer (born in 1984 in Ukraine and raised in Israel) is an Israeli artist and educator based in Florence. He holds a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Tel Aviv University, where he graduated in 2008, and a combined B.FA + M.FA certificate from the Academy of Fine Arts of Florence, where he graduated in 2016. Shtyrmer’s artistic exploration delves into the profound connection between urban spaces and their inhabitants. He creates deserted, dreamlike cityscapes that capture the essence of contemporary urban life—places where individuals often appear anonymous and isolated.
Shtyrmer works across various mediums, including drawing, printmaking, and painting, both outdoors and in his studio. His works can be found in public and private collections in Italy, Russia, Israel, the USA, and the UK.
