Studying fashion is not simply the study of clothing, it teaches us how to read society past and present.
Born in Lecce, Italy, Enrica Guidato is a successful fashion designer and educator. After studying in Florence and New York, where she received an Associate Degree in Fashion Design from the Fashion Institute of Technology S.U.N.Y and a Diploma in Apparel Design from Polimoda, she began to pursue a career in the fashion industry. Since 1996, she has worked as a head and freelance designer for renowned companies in Tuscany and Milan, including GUESS? Handbags, DIADORA Womenswear, and luxury knitwear brands like G Gioi. She also spearheaded a column for over eight years called “Style and the City” in The Florentine magazine, where she offered a unique perspective on fashion and culture in Florence.
In 2001, while continuing her design work, Guidato transitioned into education, teaching fashion design courses at Lorenzo de’ Medici Institute and Art School. Today, she is the Head of the Fashion Department at Santa Reparata International School of Art (SRISA), where she brings her industry expertise into the classroom. As a designer and professor, Guidato focuses on creating and organizing fashion courses and events that have a constant link to the working fashion world.
