Daria Borovkova is an educator, artist, and creative consultant whose international background informs her multidisciplinary approach to design. Born into a family of Russian diplomats, her early interests in languages, cultures, and the arts have shaped her diverse professional journey.
Borovkova’s academic path began with a 2005 MA (Hons) in Linguistics and Intercultural Communication from Moscow Pedagogical State University, which led to work as an interpreter for French and international institutions in Moscow. Her creative interests then expanded into design, culminating in a two-year Interior Design & Decoration diploma in 2008.
Following her design studies, she worked as a Brand Visual Merchandiser for prestigious international luxury brands including Guerlain, Burberry, Coach, Hermès, and Salvatore Ferragamo. In this role, she specialized in designing and implementing storefronts and exclusive corners in top Russian retail spaces.
In 2011, Borovkova moved to Florence, Italy, to complete an MFA program in Jewellery and Body Ornament at Alchimia Contemporary Jewellery School. She transitioned into education in 2014, teaching Jewellery Design at institutions such as Alchimia (2014-2017), Lorenzo de’ Medici Institute (since 2016), and SRISA, where she teaches the course ‘Creative Jewelry: Wearable Art’ since Spring 2025.
As a practicing artist, her work has been exhibited internationally in Europe, North America, and South America since 2012, and is held in private collections in the US and the Netherlands. She also works as an Art Director and Creative Consultant for various emerging luxury brands globally.
Borovkova’s combined experience in art direction, education, and design allows her roles to complement each other, contributing to a truly unique artistic vision she brings to the classroom.
