I love to involve students in a dynamic learning process: my aim is to make students understand how architecture is related to our life, and how design deals with our use and appropriation of every-day space.
Colomba Pecchioli, born in Florence in 1976, studied architecture at the University of Florence, where she graduated with honors in 2003 with a thesis on Trieste’s waterfront Redevelopment. In 2004, she helped found “Acme Architetture,” a young professional network that has won many international design competitions and projects, including the first place prize for the Tana bridge at the 2007 Venice Biennale.
Since co-founding the “ottoperotto network” in 2005, Pecchioli has fostered a contemporary architectural culture in Florence. She has worked with young architects in the network who promote urban environments and create temporary exhibitions and installations. In 2009 she began promoting the “firmiamolalettera” movement and was elected to the Architect’s Official Board of Florence, where her leadership earned her the nomination of President in 2012.
