This course is designed to provide students with a comprehensive technical understanding of the behavior and application of light, acoustics, and color within interior environments. Emphasis will be placed on the analysis and modulation of natural light and the evaluation of lighting strategies and their impact on spatial quality and human perception; the integral roles of light and acoustics in shaping interior environments, emphasizing their impact on design quality, environmental comfort, and human well-being; and the impact and influence color has on interior spaces, materiality, and environmental comfort.

By the end of the course, students will possess a nuanced understanding of ways light, acoustics and color shape interior space—capable of influencing mood, perception, and the overall experiential quality of interior environments.
