Import/Export within the Fashion Industry

This course provides students with a global perspective necessary to work in today’s fashion industry. Students will investigate the nature and structure of the textile and apparel industry in various countries. Emphasis will be placed on working with another culture, sourcing options, importing and exporting terminology, importing procedures, resources available to the fashion importer and issues related to conducting business in another country. Course subject matter will be delivered to students through lecture, readings, handouts, class assignments, DVDs, and guest speakers.
