Grading and Evaluation
SRISA follows the American university model for grading and evaluation.
Field Trips
Most courses integrate on-site visits to museums and exhibitions and day or overnight trips. We request that students delay booking personal travel until after receiving the term-specific syllabus in the first-week sessions. These excursions are an integral part of the course curriculum, and attendance is mandatory. Tuition does not include the fees for these excursions. SRISA will invoice students separately for these excursions after the add-drop period.

Studying and Travelling in Europe
A semester abroad gives students the chance to experience Florence while exploring more of Italy and Europe.
Alongside course-related and organized trips, students can travel independently by train or plane, with Florence well connected to destinations throughout Italy and Europe. Tuscany also offers plenty to explore closer to home, including options for more sustainable travel.
Cultural activities, student volunteer initiatives, and everyday interactions in Italian offer other ways to become part of life in Florence beyond the classroom.
