Housing Rules
- Respect Roommates: As you are living in a shared apartment, be considerate of those you live with by keeping the common spaces clean and organized; music and loud noise to a minimum in the evenings, and do not invite guests over without the consent of your roommates. Respect and communication are the keys to happy roommates!
- Keep the apartment clean: Take the trash out regularly so as not to let it accumulate in your apartments. Dumpsters are located on almost every street. Trash should be disposed of properly, otherwise, you risk large fines.
- Above Ground System: Bins are being renewed but most should have labels. Typically blue lid dumpsters are for non-differentiated trash, yellow lids are for paper and cardboard (although not frequently available), solid blue containers are for glass, plastic, and metals, and brown is for organic waste.
- Below Ground System: metal bins are located in the heart of the center. They have symbols indicating the differentiation of trash (non-differentiated; mixed plastic, glass, and tin; organic; paper and cardboard).
- No Noise after 10:30 pm: Apartments are located in residential areas/buildings with families, elderly, offices etc. They can call the police if you do not keep the noise down as per city ordinance. This pertains to stairwells and outside spaces around your building as well.
- Be careful with plumbing: Do not flush anything other than appropriate waste down the toilets. Make sure you scrape all remaining food items into the trash before washing dishes. Clear the bathroom drains of hair before and after showering, however, do not unscrew shower drains! Inform us of clogged drains for assistance.
- Do not rearrange the furniture: This can cause damage to the walls, floors, and furniture. You will be charged if furniture is moved around and must be moved back to its original placement after your stay.
- Do not use tape to attach posters, photographs, etc. to the walls.
- Turn off lights and all other appliances (ie: fans, stove, etc) when you leave the apartment.
- No overnight guests are allowed.
- Washing Machines: Wait 5-10 minutes before opening the door after your wash has finished as there is an automatic lock that releases on its own. The door should be left open after use to allow for evaporation. Refer to Apartment Maintenance Handbook.
- No smoking: These are non-smoking apartments. If you smoke, please respect this rule and go outside of the building to do so.
