A Permit of Stay is required for all non-European Union citizens who intend to live in Italy for more than 90 days. Within 8 working days of arrival students are required to apply for a Permit of Stay with the Italian police. SRISA will assist students with the application process, but students are responsible for obtaining all necessary materials before their arrival in Florence.

The following materials are required to apply for a Permit of Stay:

  • Valid Passport
  • Student Visa (see SRISA Pre-Departure for more information about visa application)
  • Original Enrollment letters stamped by Italian Consulate
  • Insurance policy covering your full stay in Italy

Remember it is the student’s responsibility to obtain all required materials. Passport and Student Visa processing time may vary – DO NOT DELAY.
