The interior design department at SRISA provides beginning, intermediate, and advanced students with an in-depth look into the world of interior design as it is practiced in Italy and Europe. Focusing on the architectural design process, courses will give students the tools needed to shape the space in which we live and develop a personal design concept.
Course Structure
The program offers students the opportunity to engage in hands-on design projects and explore Italy’s rich history and diverse materials. Projects and research will focus on sustainable and ethical design practices while students will have the opportunity to visit the most relevant historical and contemporary design projects in Italy.
Facilities
SRISA design studios, located at the Studio 55 Campus just steps away from the main San Gallo Campus, provide ample workspace for students to develop their projects inside and outside of class. While most courses are computer-based, all encourage hands-on work. The design studios offer areas for collage, cutting, drawing, pin-up space, and projection areas. Although students are encouraged to bring personal computers, SRISA provides numerous powerful Mac computers per room that run the most recent versions of the Adobe Suite as well as other relevant software. SRISA provides drafting tools, iPads, graphic pads and pens, printers, scanners, and a research materials library. SRISA design studios provide students with all the tools necessary to develop their creative projects throughout the semester.
