Teaching Philosophy:
“ I consider myself to be a facilitator and try to create a learning environment that encourages the development of critical thinking and communication skills. I do not believe in merely transferring the information, instead we should challenge the student to discover the subject. We can no longer simply “lecture,” we must develop new methods of delivery that expose our students to the subject and how it relates to their world, both professionally and personally.

Biography:
Professor Cynthia Mohr served as Chair of the Design Department in the College of Visual Arts and Design at the University of North Texas. Certified as a professional designer by the NCIDQ, her professional work includes both residential and contract design. As an educator, her research focuses on the interaction of design, culture and pedagogy. She is a professional member of the Interior Design Educators Council serving that organization in many positions, most recently as President 2015-16. In March of 2016 she was inducted into the IDEC Council of Fellows.
