This course covers the basic principles of contemporary visual merchandising techniques and strategies used in the retail environment. It focuses on understanding and recognizing how visual merchandising contributes to the advertising, marketing, and sales efforts of a retail location by designing, developing and taking charge of the visual look of the store and its merchandise. The purpose of this course is to prepare students in the process of designing, planning, budgeting and organizing visual displays and in retail design that efficiently communicates the brand value. Students will explore all the aspects of visual communication practices and the methodologies behind the creative process. It is a practical and theoretical course, through workshops; students will be involved in the creation of visual displays performance.
