Course Description:
This course is designed to introduce students to ideas and practices of sustainability in print design. Sustainable Graphic Design is the consideration of how environmental, cultural and physical environments impact printed products throughout their lifecycle. The course will explore the ideas of sustainable practice and the techniques, processes, and materials necessary to reduce the detrimental environmental, social and economic impacts of printed design. Upon completion of this course, students will produce two projects that demonstrate an understanding and application of sustainability in visual communication.
SRISA studio courses will have personal and course materials to be purchased in Florence. A complete list will be provided with the syllabus on the first day of class.
