Course Description:
This course is designed for students who have knowledge of DSLR cameras, have already taken a university level photography class and wish to move their creativity into more advanced investigations of digital photographic processes. The course will give students the chance to explore the world of night photography and light painting by working with the light of the moon and with a variety of artificial light sources on-site. Students will create a body of nocturnal and time-lapse images using the city of Florence as a background. Class time will include fieldwork, technical demonstrations, editing with Photoshop and Lightroom software. Individual and group critiques are a required aspect of the course, and students must have a DSLR camera with a bulb setting cable release in order to capture long exposure photography.
All students must have a digital camera which can function in manual mode.
SRISA studio courses will have personal and course materials to be purchased in Florence. Unless otherwise specified there is no need to bring consumable supplies with you. On the first day of class your professor will inform you of materials needed and where to get them in Florence.
