The aim of this course is to form fashion producers, who are often considered fundamental professional figures in the fashion industry. Fashion producers direct every aspect of a runway fashion show. They must coordinate and bring all pieces of the show together, including models, staff, lights, sound, seating and documentation of the whole experience. Responsibilities in this role include both the creative and business duties of producing a fashion show. This course touches on a variety of aspects in the fashion field including communication, visual presentation, art installations, performance, digital media and merchandising concepts.
Particular attention will be given to the transition of what students learn by attending fashion shows and presentations into their final project, which will see them producing the entire school’s fashion venue and environment at the student show.
