Night Life

Florence is a very active and lively city. Students will enjoy dancing in local night spots, eating out in restaurants serving delicious Tuscan cuisine, shopping in the San Lorenzo open market, eating gelato (ice cream), or just relaxing with a cappuccino at a local cafe.

City Life

Of course, most students come to Florence for the artistic riches that are to be found everywhere in the city. But most visitors will be delighted by the sheernumber of cultural events that are available in all fields. The school keeps an up-to-date listing of the exhibitions, musical, theater, and dance events. In addition to the many movie theaters showing Italian language (or dubbed) films, there are also theaters that show English language films.

Cultural Events around Florence

In addition to its artistic tradition, the Florence hosts cultural events in music, theater, dance and film. In May and June of each year there is the famous Maggio Musicale, or May Music Festival, in which the most important performing artists of our day come to perform. Students also appreciate the many free concerts that are given throughout the year in churches and piazzas.

There are also many special art exhibitions, some of which are held at spectacular locations such as the Forte Belvedere, the fortress overlooking Florence.
