Enrica Guidato comes from Lecce, Italy. After receiving her scientific Diploma, she moved to Florence and then New York where she received her Associate Degree for Fashion Design at the Fashion Institute of Technology S.U.N.Y. She also received a Diploma for Apparel Design at Ent-Art Polimoda Institute in Florence, Italy.
Since 1996 she has gained working experience as head and free-lance designer for various companies and design studios around Tuscany and Milan. Among those: S.Faulkner's Style Studio in Florence, where she worked on the fall '98 collections such as GUESS? Handbags and DIADORA Womenswear; Sara Lee Champion Europe Inc. as a referent person for suppliers; Big Brothers s.r.l., Prato, Italy as head designer for women’s wear collections CREATUM fall 2k and S/S 2001 and others like Free Soul s.r.l. casual denim wear, G Gioi s.r.l. Luxury knitwear and garments and Technostil s.r.l. leatherwear.
In 2001, while continuing her design career, she started teaching both practical and theoretical fashion related courses for Lorenzo de Medici Institute and Art.e School. She has continued to pursue her career as a designer and professor by focusing on the creation and organization of specialty fashion courses and events that have a constant link to the working fashion system.
She currently teaches at Santa Reparata International School of Art, where she is also the Faculty Coordinator and Head of the Fashion Department. In 2008 she started her own column called Style and the City in “The Florentine” magazine (www.theflorentine.net).
